Job Summary
Material Handler's principal responsibility supporting production lines; supplying materials and ingredients in a timely manner. Operates palletizers and robots, performs all scanning and SAP related function for production and inventory tracking applying handling units to pallets and finished goods put away. Empties dumpsters in packaging, removes cardboard totes and loads stickle trailers with full totes. Assists with loading and unloading trucks of raw material and finished goods, performs cycle count inventory, assists with cleaning facility as needed. This position will report to and is assigned to a scheduled nightcrew working a rotating 2:2:3 work schedule on 12:hour shifts (7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.)
Position Responsibilities
Duties include:
-Performs daily safety check of the assigned forklift in accordance with company policy.
-Verifies supplies and transports pallets of raw materials and supplies with forklift to production staging areas as needed.
-Prepares supplies and raw materials for production lines, cuts banding and removes trash and dunnage as required.
-Replenishes production lines with the appropriate materials as needed or requested throughout the shift.
-Transports finished goods from production lines to warehouse storage or staging area with a Forklift.
-Scans information into database, prints and applies labels and performs inventory counts as required.
-Changes stretch wrap on auto:palletizer as needed, re:stacks product on pallets, cleans trailers, removes broken pallets and empties trash.
-Rotates goods in the warehouse and doubles stack pallets of supplies as required.
-Performs general housekeeping duties in work area and on the forklift and charges battery on forklift as needed.
-At the end of the shift, cleans and secures all equipment and completes all necessary paperwork
-Provides on the job training to other employees and resolves problems utilizing knowledge of plant operations.
-Operates material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks or dollies to move stock or reorganize storage.
-Removes finished goods from robots and palletizers and properly stores them in the warehouse.
-Utilizes computerized or automated systems (i.e. SAP) to accomplish tasks.
Other:
-Reacts appropriately to area safety problems.
-Communicates safety /quality / operational issues to proper departments or responsible parties
-Effectively participates in shift handoffs (oncoming and off:going)
-Enters data correctly into SAP for usage of materials and maintenance activities.
-Accurately details daily activities in the logbook.
-Troubleshoots, debugs, and resolves problems with equipment as needed. If resolution is beyond scope of his/her skill level, seeks assistance from other employees, including Team Leader or Production Leader
-Provides training to other employees
-Accurately checks parts out of and returns to stockroom utilizing SAP to ensure stockroom inventory accountability
-Prepares, writes and updates Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), Job Safety Analyses (JSA's), and other technical documentation.
-Provides meaningful input regarding proposed engineering changes.
-Completes area housekeeping tasks and maintains work area in a neat, clean and orderly manner.
-Supports integration of new methods or technology being installed and/or new or modified product testing/optimization.
-Performs other duties as assigned.

-High school diploma or equivalent
-Minimum of two (2) years forklift exper
